Clayton’s journey of alternative healing began in March, 2007 when he was struck by a truck at high speed while walking in a crosswalk. This even began a journey of healing on multiple levels. After being in the hospital for months and having endured a head trauma, coma, and complete facial reconstruction the immediate triage was complete. Traditional medicine could not provide for me the tools needed to further my recovery. So began his journey of alternative medicine. Seeking out unconventional therapies became a lifestyle. In 2009 he had his first experience with acupuncture. His attitude was skeptical as it was something he didn’t understand and so many traditional options had left struggling to find his way. This left him with no other choice but to try any and everything. After the first treatment he was surprised. Surprised to notice subtle changes in his physiology. Without medication the pain and pressure in his head released. It was subtle at first. After 2 months of treatment, the results turned out be nothing short of miraculous. The body pain and pressure in the head became manageable to a point of being able to function. A new sense of clarity began to emerge and desire to relearn and regain the cognitive abilities lost in the accident. Little by little and day by day saw obvious improvement. A desire to try new things and test limitation became a way of life. A natural desire when wondering where he’d been for the last 2 years. No longer was Clayton relegating himself to a life of disability and severe limitation. He would create his own fate. Acupuncture therapy had opened the doors of perception to envision himself creating a life beyond trauma.
The next 12 years became a slow and steady journey of healing. Two steps forward and one step back as he came to understand time as an ally to health not a detriment. Just as relearning how to live and function in the world became a journey of understanding. It became a journey of working with, and working through limitations.
Currently, Clayton’s journey is has reached stage of giving back. With so many years under the care and inluence of so many exceptional professionals, Clayton is giving back the medicine given to him. For this opportunity he is incredibly grateful.
